GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — It was an absolute barn-burner on CMU’s softball field tonight as Palisade took on Rifle.

The Bears got things going with a six-run first and, despite a 4-run answer by Palisade in the bottom half, got the win 14 to 12. Next up Rifle will host Cedaredge on Thursday and Palisade heads to Delta on Tuesday.

We were expecting a matchup on the soccer pitch between Fruit and Central tonight, but due to overscheduling at CMU, that game was postponed.

But across the way from CMU at Stocker Stadium, we had the 27th annual Valley of the Bands Extravaganza.
All four valley bands came out to showcase their talents and continue to practice before regional and soon state and national competition begins next week.
