Rockies Sail Past Owlz On Emoji Saturday

Talk about an icon-ic night at Suplizio Field.

The Grand Junction Rockies, clad from head to torso in new-age communication, breezed past the Orem Owlz 8-3 Saturday. Rockies 4th round pick Ryan Feltner pitched four shutout innings, striking out five in his fourth start of the season. Wander Cabrera (2-2) pitched two scoreless inning in relief to claim his second win of the year.

The Rockies smoked Orem's starter Tanner Chock (0-1) early. Junction's first five batters all reached base safely, leading 4-0 before the Owlz recorded an out. Coco Montes finished the night 2-for-5 with 3 RBIs. Zach Hall hit a solo home run in the 2nd inning to extend the lead to 5-0.

The Rockies (23-19) have now won 9 of their last 11 games, and hold the lead atop the second half Pioneer League standings at 3-1.

Junction will continue their series against the Owlz Sunday at 5:00 p.m. from Suplizio Field. Fans will receive $2 off a Rockies ticket if they bring two non-perishable food items to the ticket window at Suplizio on Sunday, as the Rockies hold a food drive with Western Slope Food Bank of the Rockies.
