The Colorado Rockies had the 22nd overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft. They decided to go with sophomore left-handed pitcher Ryan Rolison from Ole Miss.
In his two years of being a Rebel, Rolison was a freshman All-American and went to the Cape Cod Baseball League in the summer of 2017 to pitch for the Orleans Firebirds.
In his sophomore campaign he bettered almost all of his stats and ended with a 3.70 ERA, a 10-4 record and 120 strikeouts in 91.1 innings pitched.
Scouts have said that Rolison is a very polished pitcher with a nasty curveball and a fastball that can hit 95 mph when he feels like it.
The Rockies do not have a second round pick. Their next one will be No. 96 overall, and will be selected Tuesday, June 5.
