Shanta Loecker named CMU's Women's Lacrosse Coach

Colorado Mesa's women's lacrosse team now has a head coach. Friday, the University hired Shanta Loecker who spent the last six years as the head coach of Albion College.

She was able to turn the division three program around. Before Loecker, the team didn't win a game in the year 2012. Then Loecker was hired and she eventually led the team to a 15-3 record and a birth to the NCAA division III tournament.

In 2014, she was named the offensive coordinator for the Scotland Senior National team. Before that she was an attack at the University of California Los Angeles.

In 2017 the Mavericks had an impressive record of 12-4 and went 7-2 in conference play. The women's lacrosse season will begin in the Spring of 2019.
