Earlier Tuesday, both of the Colorado Mesa University lacrosse programs announced that they were ranked in the national preseason top 20.
The women come in at No. 15 and the men at No. 17. The women finished last season (7-2) in RMAC play and are returning all but one of their players that were given conference honors. They will enter the new season with a new coaching staff with Shanta Leocker as the head coach and Ashley Glenn as the assistant coach.
The men are coming into 2019 as reigning conference champions and made it to the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history a year ago. They return 2018 RMAC midfielder of the year Jack Griffin, and 2018 RMAC goalie of the year and already a preseason All-American Remi Reeves. The season starts February 7 for the guys and February 16 for the ladies.
