On Wednesday, Colorado Mesa first baseman AnnMarie Torres was named a NFCA DII first-team All-American.
This is her third all-american accolade as her freshman and sophomore year at CMU she was named to the third team.
Torres tore up the batter’s box in 2019 for the Mavericks, as she was second in the nation in RBI with 68 and had a top five on-base percentage (.587). She led the RMAC with a .458 batting average and ended her junior campaign as the RMAC Player of the Year.
She was also named the national player of the week twice in 2019. Torres is now a finalist for the Schutt Sports/NFCA DII Player of the Year award, which is announced sometime next week.
