GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KREX) — The Candidates running to represent the Western Slope spoke about local business at a Chamber of Commerce event today.
Before the candidates took center stage, the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce recognized job growth in Grand Junction this quarter.
From ColCal Colorado to Walmart Neighborhood Market this quarter $8.3 million were invested and 123 new jobs were created. This brings the running total for the year up to $41.5 million invested and 177 jobs created.
Then the Candidates’ forum began. They answered questions written by the audience that pertained to government regulations, public safety, and water. All questions featured a local business slant.
Not all candidates were able to attend. The following candidates were invited but did not attend:
- Alice Maria Slaven-Emond (District 54)
- Jared Polis (Governor)
- Heidi Ganahl (Governor)
- Lauren Boebert (3rd Congressional District)
- Joe O’Dea (Senate)
- Michael Bennet (Senate)
In attendance were candidates in the following races:
- House District 55
- House District 54
- Senate District 7
- County Commissioner District 2
- 3rd Congressional District
