GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — 4 people were sent to the hospital last night after two vehicles slid off the road on Pitkin Avenue. At around 4 p.m. The Grand Junction Police Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash around the intersection of S 13th Street and Pitkin Ave.

Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered two motor vehicles had veered off the road into the Bear Automotive and RV Services parking lot, colliding with two more vehicles and a fork-lift causing significant property damage. Remnants of the crash littered the road for more than a block.

Four people including an individual working in the area were transported to the hospital to receive treatment for serious bodily injuries. Three are adult males, ages 63, 53, 18. One is a female, age 20. Due to this being an ongoing investigation, police are unable to disclose the names of the individuals.

Although GJPD is in the early stages of an investigation that will take weeks, officials tell us speed is being reviewed as a factor in the crash.
