GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — $46 million will soon help move transportation on the Western Slope move forward.

Money will be sent to Grand Junction, Rifle, Glenwood Springs, Pueblo, and Alamosa.

Within the $46mill, $24mill will go towards the Westward Three project—which surprisingly is 4 different projects.

  • In Glenwood Springs CDOT will help fund a transit center and an underpass under 27th street.
  • In Rifle they will build a new Park-and-Ride transit hub.
  • In Grand Junction they will build a mobility hub.

“It’ll be the location connecting local, regional, inner city and inner-state transit,” said Amber Blake, director of the transit and rail division at CDOT.

“This is a $24 million from the federal government’s infrastructure bill to support the regional effort to get people moving again,” said Colorado Senator Michael Bennet.

Blake told me the Transportation Hub will be built next to the Convention Center and should be completed in 3 years.
