GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The Western Slope will be getting hotter this week!

Average high temperature for early June is in the middle and upper 80s. Records for Grand Junction exist at the low 100 degree category. Saturday and Sunday will have more opportunities for Grand Junction and many other locations to achieve record temperatures. Dry and hotter conditions will be the order of business along the Western Slope until a pattern shift during the middle of next week. Take care of yourself/check in with friends and your neighbors this weekend because the Grand Valley will be under a Heat Advisory through Sunday 9 pm June 12, 2022. for the Grand Valley. Plan your outdoor activities to include rest, shade and rehydration. Remember not to leave children or pets in an enclosed car during these temperatures for any amount of time.
