GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — An officer-involved shooting sent one man to the hospital this morning.

Grand Junction Police responded to a domestic violence incident at the Red Roof Inn off Hwy 6 and 50 around 10:30 A.M. According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s office the male suspect attempted to flee making his way east toward Scarlet Drive where the officers shot at the suspect.

Because this is an officer-involved shooting other area agencies have stepped in to run the investigation. Both officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave as is standard practice for GJPD.

The male suspect who was shot by officers is currently in the hospital; we have no update on his condition.
