GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — A weak storm system will be passing through the northern portions of the forecast area early Sunday. This will have light snow impacts for the central and northern mountains with dry conditions elsewhere.
Cooler Sunday afternoon temperatures will be the beginning of the rollercoaster of spring temperatures. Wind will remain in this forecast throughout the end of next week. Sunday is dry and cloudy and cooler (as mentioned). Monday will still keep overcast conditions due to a secondary system swinging through the state, but dry conditions remain for the lower elevations regardless and a brief warmup.
Tuesday will be the day the sets it all off with a cold front moving through the region. That cold front will keep the wind machine going and rain showers will become widespread across the region. Late Monday through early Wednesday will have precipitation chances. Colder air is expected (again) after the frontal passage. Late next week will be right back in the freezer for the morning hours and agricultural interests should pay attention.
