DENVER, Colo. — Bone chilling temperatures and more snow promised. The Colorado Department of Transportation says all of its plows are out across Colorado. Crews started pre-treating the roads Friday.
“Our biggest concern for drivers it that they’re prepared for tough conditions from the moment they get outside of their house until they get where they’re going,” says Matt Inzeo with C-DOT. He says the agency knows a holiday weekend and fresh snow means more skiers and snowboarders are off to the mountains. “Given the bitter cold temperatures, this is the weekend to make sure you’re extra prepared,” says Inzeo. He is urging drivers be ready for delays, to have extra food in the car, to have a change of clothes, and if you’re skiing or snowboarding, making sure you can be warm and dry in case something comes up.
