GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Select D-51 students are getting a head start on their college tuition with the help of Colorado Mesa University and Alpine Bank.
Students and families gathered at CMU Tuesday for the annual Student of The Quarter Luncheon.
The luncheon is an opportunity for D-51 students to receive a scholarship to Colorado Mesa University, or Western Colorado Community College, if they choose to attend.
Students are nominated by their schools for their academic excellence.
The scholarship is funded through a partnership between Alpine Bank and Colorado Mesa University.
Its mission is to keep local talent and intelligence in the valley.
