GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — The race for Colorado’s Third Congressional District is close between Republican Lauren Boebert and Democrat Diane Mitsch Bush as the latest polling shows the race is only separated by a few points.

On Sunday, KREX sat in a virtual phone bank session where Diane Mitsch Bush was rallying
supporters to call unaffiliated and Democratic voters in the district, all in an effort to get the vote out for Democratic party. The meeting’s goal was to teach participants how to talk to registered voters as well as to remind Coloradans to get out and vote. Volunteers are scripted to ask unaffiliated and Democratic voters if they are going to vote for Mitsch Bush as well as choose John Hickenlooper and Joe Biden on the Novemeber 3rd ballot for the Colorado Senate race and Presidential race, respectively.

Diane Mitsch Bush says she is grateful for every volunteer, and she also says this virtual phone bank shows what a campaign can achieve even during a pandemic. Mitsch Bush says, “the pandemic, which my opponent calls the “plan-demic,” I think its really important that we are a role model to people about all the good things you can do without endangering other people.”
