DELTA– Details have been released regarding a stabbing that left two people injured in Delta this past weekend.
Saturday morning, around 4:00 am, law enforcement officers were dispatched to the scene where they found two victims with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities identified 34-year-old Robert Kyle brown as the suspect and learned he had fled the scene on foot.
Brown was found about four hours later under the Gunnison river bridge over US 50.
According to the Delta Police Department, officers could see that Brown had a head injury consistent with information the victims had provided, but when they approached him, Brown attempted to flee.
The chase caused two officers, a sheriff’s deputy, and the suspect to end up a river where law enforcement equipment was damaged, lost in the water, and both the officers and deputy were injured.
Brown was then transported to Delta County Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries and then arrested.
He is currently being charged with a slew of convictions, including second degree attempted murder, first-degree burglary, second-degree assault, and resisting arrest. He is being held at the Delta County Sheriff’s Office detention facility on a $60,000 bond, with an additional $25,000 bond for his attack on the officers.
