Increased Vandalism at Grand Junction Parks


GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The City of Grand Junction has responded to several recent incidents of vandalism. The most recent incident happened July 28th at Eagle Rim Skate Park, where a concerned citizen reported graffiti of offensive words.

“There was graffiti that was very offensive. We worked quickly to cover it up.” Ken Sherbenou, City of Grand Junction.

Other recent vandalism includes:

  • A memorial tree destroyed in Lincoln Park
  • Canyon View Park restrooms faced vandalism
  • The Loaner Life Jacket program constructed and donated by the Save A Life program at the River Park at Las Colonias, was vandalized twice within the past month.
  • Several Trees were destroyed with an ax at West Lake Park.
