GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.-

Wrestling was on tap in the valley Wednesday night. Fruita Monument topped Palisade at FMHS 49-21. And the Grand Junction Tigers beat Central High at home 55-11.

Out in Fruita, a four forfeits at the heavier weights (182-285) put the Warriors behind the 8-ball early. Mikey Salazar, Judah Guajardo and Phallen Salvati all scored pinfall victories for the Bulldogs. But wins for Jacob Kiefer, Daniel Denton, and Jeremiah Williams sealed the Wildcat’s 49-21 win.

At Grand Junction the Tigers rolled. Jason Pollard opened up the night with a win 9-5 for the Warriors over Able Martinez. Cale Moore earned the OT win for the Tigers over Tristan Rascon. Devin Hickey beat Kole Arellano to put the Warriors back in the lead. But back to back pins courtesy of Christian Hafey and Brayden Hutto put the Tigers on top, and they did not look back. Grand Junction ended the night with a 55-11 win over Central.
