GJ man stabbed Wednesday now identified, still searching for suspect


GRAND JUNCTION– Authorities are identifying a Mesa County man who died from injuries suffered during an early-morning stabbing.

According to the Mesa County Coroner’s office, 25-year-old Rafael Jaime of Grand Junction died from multiple stab wounds to the torso.

The manner of death is being ruled a homicide.

Officials say shortly before 5 am on Wednesday, officers with the Grand Junction police department were dispatched to the Paradise Valley Mobile Home Park at 585 25 1/2 road.

Rafael Jaime was found injured outside a residence at the park, he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are now asking the community for assistance in tracking down potential suspects.
