Murder suspect John Eddy plea hearing


GRAND JUNCTION– John Eddy, the accused shooter in the murder of 32-year-old Kyle Free pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder, and conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree.

Authorities say Free was shot multiple times in April of last year, and died from gunshot wounds to the neck and chest.

This past August, another person connected to the case, Rebecca Walker, was sentenced to 48 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.

An evidentiary hearing for Eddy has been set for January 15th.

An 11-day trial also been scheduled to begin on March 30th.
