MESA COUNTY, Colo. — Mesa County Officially has a new county administrator, and they didn’t have to search far.
23-year employee, Pete Baier, will be replacing Frank Whidden.
Baier will continue his role as Public Works Director while also overseeing departments of the county like the IT Department.
Whidden officially resigned from the position in August after two months of paid leave and controversy surrounding claims that Whidden laid-off members of his staff due to their age.
Baier sees his new position as another chance to continue his mission in Mesa County.
Baier will receive the same $180,000 salary as Whidden, and will receive a six month trial period in the position.
