GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.
A 14 year old accused of stabbing a fellow student at Grand Junction High School may soon be headed for the other side of the state.
It was determined the suspect will be evaluated at the Colorado Mental Health Institute in Pueblo, CO for a 30 day review.
A not guilty plea has been entered stemming from an incident on October 21st when the defendant allegedly stabbed a boyfriend approximately six to eight times, according to the court affidavit.
The minor is charged with second degree assault, domestic violence, and interference with staff or students of educational institutions.
Since the juvenile in this case is charged with a crime of violence, there’s a right to a jury trial which is set for late March.
Another court date is scheduled for February 18th.
