It was another low scoring affair for the Grand Junction Rockies, but they down the Rocky Mountain Vibes for the sixth time this season 2-1 at Suplizio.
Junction’s four hits were enough to secure the one-run win. They scored one run in the bottom of the first, but Colin Simpson’s solo homerun was the difference in the fourth inning.
That was Tank’s fourth of the season, which now co-leads the team with Max George.
The pitching was great tonight. Helcris Olivarez got the start and only gave up one run in his five innings of work and struck out eight.
The bullpen was lights out after Olivarez’s departure. Mejia, Barlow, Hepple, and Hollowell combined for four shut out innings.
The Rockies improve to (9-8) on the season, they will square off against the Vibes to end the two-game home stint July 3rd at 6:40 p.m.
