Sabrina Stevens first court appearance after stabbing

GRAND JUNCTION– A woman accused of stabbing a man to death appeared in court Thursday morning.

The case is so complex, the prosecutor needs more time before he can file charges.

Sabrina Stevens broke down in tears throughout the process.

The prosecutor says, due to the complexity of the case, he’s not ready to formally file charges against Sabrina Stevens.

The prosecutor specifically cites the need for more interviews to be conducted, a week after the crime is alleged to have been committed.

The suspect’s family says there was a history of domestic violence between stevens and the victim, Andrew Hapoff.

As of Monday morning– records, in this case, are still sealed.

She’s still being held on a 50 thousand dollar bond for first-degree assault, manslaughter, and domestic violence.

Stevens will be back in court on October 10th.
