Subtle pattern shift, though only noticed in the temperature department as things are heating up.
Sunday will have more of the same, partly cloudy, slightly humid with instability available afternoon storms and hotter temperatures. The hotter temperatures will be returning to the extended forecast as our weather pattern continues to evolve into next week. The evolution is losing the cutoff low situated off the California coast and gaining an expanding high from the east. The high moving in from the southern central plains will be overhead (Four Corners region) Monday and will keep the temperatures rising. Storm activity does not shut off entirely and under this ridge of high pressure the region should expect late afternoon storms through Tuesday. After the midweek, warmer and drier conditions will settle into the Western Slope.
