A high-pressure system is starting to work it's way into the area. This means an increase in temperatures is expected for the region.
Temperatures are staying cold through Saturday and Sunday, but the early work week has a warm-up expected.
Unsettled winter weather is expected through the western slope with some areas receiving double digit accumulations. Vail pass, Steamboat Springs and Telluride are expecting those heavy accumulations. Temperatures are also staying colder than average today and through the weekend days.
Double digits accumulations of snow can be expected through Vail pass, Steamboat Springs and Telluride. Through Grand Junction and Montrose lesser snow coverage is expected, but cold temperatures 10-15 degrees below average will be seen. Travel impacts will continue through the weekend days.
Sunny and clear skies with warm temperatures are on the way out as winter weather moves in for Friday. The valleys can expect a drop in temperatures by 15 degrees with up to 2" of snow accumulations through Saturday.
