The same high-pressure ridge that's over the forecast area continues to bring in dry air and temperatures 5-15 degrees above season averages. This will change as another round of early winter weather is expected for the western slope starting Thursday night.
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Temperatures are increasing above average throughout the western United States with dry air bringing plenty of sunny skies.
As a high-pressure ridge builds over the great basin sunshine and warmer temperatures can be expected for the western slope. Thursday things may shift just a little as a chance for unsettled weather moves into the region.
Firefighters are preparing to continue a pile burn in the Dawson Draw project area this Tuesday.
A high pressure is building over the mountain west, so temperatures and sunshine are expected this week. The end of the work week does have a chance for more winter weather moving into the region.
A high pressure starts to build over Colorado in the next few days meaning temperatures are starting to increase a little. Sunshine also will stick around for the work week.
Higher elevation regions are still expecting snow through tonight. Temperatures will continue to stay below averages until Monday.
