Delta and Rifle will faceoff in 2A Championship; Montrose advance to 4A Semis

The Delta Panthers and Rifle Bears will meet in the 2A State Football Championship after the Panthers beat Moffat County and the Bears beat last year's state champion Eaton. No. 1 seeded Delta beat No. 12 seeded Moffat County in convincing fashion with a 28-10 victory at Panther Stadium. Meanwhile, No. 3 Rifle had a tough matchup against No. 15 seeded Eaton. The Reds might be a lower seed this year, but this team just came off three straight state championships. The Bears were able to overcome the odds and beat Eaton 24-15 to advance to the state championship game, which will be held on the campus of CSU Pueblo at the ThunderBowl next Saturday, November 25th at 5 p.m. In 4A, The Montrose Red Hawks also sealed their ticket to the next round of the playoffs with a 26-7 win over Windsor. The Red Hawks' run game was almost unstoppable as Blake Griffin scored multiple touchdowns. Montrose will play No. 2 Erie in the 4A State Semifinals.
