A low pressure will start to move in from the west coast, which will bring rain and snow for the entire western slope on Thursday and Friday. The valleys will see 1-2" of accumulation and southern areas will see up to 8".
Temperatures will stay below seasonal averages with sunshine through the middle of the work week, but that will shift Wednesday night. Unsettled weather moving in with a southwesterly flow will produce several rounds of winter storms through the end of the work week.
Saturday afternoon all this moisture will exit the western slope, but temperatures are staying colder than average.
The first winter storm for the valleys is upon us. Minimal accumulations will be seen for lower elevations, but areas like the San Juan mountains will see up to 20". Temperatures are also on the decline through the weekend to be 10 to 20 degrees below averages.
