Temperature lows and highs for the Western Slope are now running above the average!
Dry conditions will continue through this weekend along with the above average temperatures. However, Thursday night and Friday will have a partly cloudy outlook because of a weak system driving in from the southwest. This system will have more impacts for the southern half of Colorado and will put some light snow around Telluride/Wolf Creek and thunderstorms over Raton Pass. By Friday afternoon, that’s it for this round of unsettled weather.
This weekend looks like a few temperature records could be tied or set between Grand junction and Montrose. Grand Junction has 81 degree records Friday through Sunday and a record temperature of 82 degrees on Monday. Montrose has a shot of a record on Sunday with middle/upper 70’s in the temperature history book. A mostly clear sky will give way to a partly cloudy weekend with the passage of a cold front to our north. Very little impacts are anticipated from this weather feature, but there will be two chances of unsettled weather next week. All eyes will be watching the associated cold fronts Tuesday and Thursday.
