April 15th Forecast

We saw cloudy skies return to the Western Slope tonight. The same low pressure system that brought us the rain showers on Tuesday will return to the Western Slope today. Expect to see widespread rain showers, and possible thunderstorms during the afternoon hours. Afternoon highs will be on the cooler side of our averages and we can expect temperatures to cool down as we head into the weekend. Rain showers in the lower valleys will tend to the lighter side and are only expecting to see a few hundredths of an inch, but we will see rain totals closer to a tenth of an inch at the higher elevations over the Grand Mesa and Divide. Showers will continue into Friday, but they will be much less frequent. An upper level trough will give us one more round of unsettled weather on Saturday. This trough will only bring notable rain chances for the southern portions of the Western Slope and the high country. Skies will start to clear up and we will see warmer weather begin to move in for the start of next week.
