Cold core funnel cloud spotted in Grand Junction, Kris Nation explains

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — On Thursday afternoon, Grand Junction saw a peculiar weather phenomenon in the sky.

The sight resembled a funnel shape but was not a tornado, as tornadoes are extremely uncommon in Western Colorado.

Chief Meteorologist Kris Nation explains the sight, calling it a cold core funnel cloud.
