GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Firefighters are responding to a new fire started in Grand Junction under the Highway 340 bridge.

The Grand Junction Fire Department, Mesa County Sheriff’s Office and Bureau of Land Management air resources are coordinating to combat the blaze.

The Grand Junction Police Department is directing traffic in the area of the fire. GJFD officials ask travelers to take an alternate route to avoid the traffic as lane closures are in effect with significant delays.
