GUNNISON COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) — United States Forest Service officials have named a new fire in Gunnison County the Lowline Fire.
The fire started this morning at around 8 a.m. this Wednesday morning after witnesses reported a fire on the north aspect of a ridge between Squirrel and Mill Creeks in Gunnison County. Officials believe the fire started from a lightning strike.
USFS reports the fire to be 20 acres in size and 0 percent contained as of 3 p.m. The fire is currently not threatening any structures.
