GUNNISON COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) — Firefighting efforts continue in Gunnison County against the Lowline Fire.

This Friday, Rocky Mountain Critical Incident Management Team 1 reported the fire to be 1776 acres and 54% contained. The fire was reported to be 1771 acres yesterday.

Wet conditions assisted firefighting efforts and helped firefighters achieve 50% containment. Dry conditions are expected this weekend and could lead to new fire activity in the area.

Western Slope Now will continue to follow the Lowline Fire.
