RIO BLANCO COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) — Firefighters are battling a wildfire in Rio Blanco County.
The fire broke out on August 16 eight miles east of Rangely and has since grown to 1099 acres. Firefighters have contained 10 percent of the blaze.
Officials have closed County Road 65 and are working to secure a perimeter to open the road as soon as possible. The Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to please avoid the area for safety concerns.
