What showers we see this morning are not a part of the main winter weather system that will be moving through the Western Slope. With the warmer morning lows we will warm up to the 40s for the start of the afternoon. The main cold front will make its way into the Western Slope at noon today bringing heavy rain showers to the Grand Valley and snow chances over the higher elevations. The heaviest rain and snow will fall late this afternoon and this evening. Snow showers will last into Tomorrow afternoon. Snow totals from this system will total over a foot of snow over the mountain tops. Mountain towns will see around 8″. Northern Valleys near Meeker and Craig are expect to see around 6″. The Grand Valley will finally drop below freezing tonight leaving us with a few inches of snow tomorrow morning. High pressure will bring in clear skies for the end of the day on Friday. Sunshine will continue into the weekend, but high temperatures for Friday and Saturday look to be slightly above freezing in the Grand Valley.
