As we move into the evening hours we will start to see the end of this first storm system. Mild temperatures and a rain chance will remain in the forecast Friday evening and into Saturday morning. If rain falls (not likely after midnight), it will be a better chance of a rain/snow mix.
Second storm system due in Saturday through late Sunday. Winter Storm Warning for the Grand Mesa and a Winter Weather Advisory for the Uncompahgre for that same time frame as a more potent mountain storm system approaches. This second storm for the late weekend period will have a lot more cold air. Expect temperatures to drop 20-25 degrees from the highs we have experienced of late. We will also experience wide spread rain and snow showers Saturday into Sunday. any rain and snow with this second storm will dry up by Sunday evening and we will see a little bit of dry weather before the next system arrives Monday – Tuesday. Sunday has a chance of measurable snow for the lower valley locations.
