Prepare for very chilly low temperatures and cold afternoons for the weekend.

Post frontal environment, which means the storm system has exited the region and we will be slowly clearing the sky and dropping the temperatures! The weekend will present some of the coldest low temperatures of the fall season and the afternoon high temperatures will be below the average (40 degrees F). There will be a drying pattern this weekend. The previous storm system did set a rainfall record for Grand Junction on Thursday with a 24 hour rain total of .57″ and most of the Colorado mountains received a healthy dose to the snow pack!

Next storm system is due for the middle of next week. Expect mild afternoon temperatures Monday and Tuesday along with increasing wind speeds late Tuesday. This is in response to an approaching cold front and another round of mountain snow is expected. Lower elevations will get a chance to rinse and repeat with rain, rain/snow and a chance for snow to the valley floor early Wednesday.
