Friday September 3, 2021 Forecast First

The Western Slope can expect a clear, dry and warm/hot holiday weekend.

Courtesy of our next weather maker the ridge of high pressure on the western third of the U.S., high temperatures Saturday afternoon will be very near the seasonal average. Except for the smoke/haze, the light breeze, the dry conditions, the mostly clear sky and temperatures in the 80s will be spot on for this time of the year. Storms on Saturday should remain isolated to the San Luis Valley in the south central region of Colorado. Storms on Sunday and Monday should be nonexistent in the lower elevations and widespread nothing for the the majority of the state. The focus this weekend will be on the temperatures and the family/friends get-togethers outside. Afternoon temperatures will rise past the seasonal averages for Sunday and Monday and continue heating up into the middle of next week. Dry and breezy conditions will also remain in the forecast for the middle of next week.
