An upper level ridge will be the dominant weather setup for this weekend. This will cause lower elevation high temperatures to warm up slightly above the average for this time of the year (upper 30s Montrose/low 40s Grand Junction). Early next week, an approaching cold front will swing through the region bringing plenty of cold air and snow potential. This system will pull in moisture from the Pacific Northwest and could deliver some significant snow totals to all elevations. Holiday travel should finish nicely on Sunday with dry conditions, but late Monday things will deteriorate and hazardous weather is anticipated through early Wednesday.
