Today is the coldest morning of the week. Most of the higher elevations are seeing subzero morning lows, and once we account for wind chills Aspen felts like they are 17 degrees below zero at 5 am. High temperatures will be slightly warmer than yesterday, and will be near our averages for late January. High pressure and an upper level ridge will move over the Western Slope for the weekend. These features will lock in stable air, and cause our highs to warm up. We will see mid 40s for the Grand Valley by the end of the weekend, Monday of next week. Next Tuesday a cold front bring in chances for snow showers all across the region, and highs will drop down to below freezing temperatures for the Grand Valley for the middle of next week.
