We saw Partly cloudy skies over the Western Slope on New Years Eve. These cloudier skies caused our morning lows to be warmer than yesterday’s. We woke up today with low temperatures mostly in the teens, however Gunnison will still see subzero temperatures. Our afternoon highs will continue to warm up, but they will still be slightly below average for this time of year. For this weekend we will see partly cloudy skies and our high temperatures will eventually climb up to the lower 40s for the lower valleys by Monday. A cold front will push through the Western Slope on Tuesday bringing chances for snow showers to the region. This front will be weaker than the last one, but any bit of rain/snowfall will help with our current drought.
