Welcome back to another drought monitor update. There was some improvements from the last time we looked over in Southwestern Colorado, but the Western Slope has remained the same. In fact most of the lower valleys have not seen any measurable rainfall all month. Things will be changing in the next few days. As a cut off low pushes moist air into the region we will see multiple frontal systems pass through this weekend and early next week. We are talking 50%+ rain and snow chances for 4 of the next 5 days. While it will take multiple systems to alleviate this drought this weekend will be a great start.
