January 27th Forecast

We saw skies clear up last night. Because of the clearer skies we woke up to much colder temperatures. Our morning lows were 5 – 10 degrees colder than our normals. We will see closer to normal temperatures as we move into the afternoon hours. Clear skies will not be around for too long. A cut off low pressure system to our west will push cloud cover into the region during the afternoon hours. This low will stall for a few days while an upper level ridge settles in the western slope for Thursday and the start of Friday. Thanks to the ridge our highs will shoot up to the upper 40s and potentially lower 50s for some of the valleys for Thursday and Friday. Friday night the low to our east will finally move through the western slope bringing rain and mixed precipitation to the lower valleys and snow at the higher elevations for the start of the weekend. As this low moves through expect to see some cooler temperatures. Another ridge will start to set in on Sunday and we will see a warmer than average start to February
