Morning lows are continuing to slowly warm up on the Western Slope. Most of the lower valleys are waking up to temperatures in the upper 60s to lower 70s. There are still a few small thunderstorms over the mountain tops this morning. Chances for morning rain showers will be dying down over the next few hours. Once we get into the afternoon widespread scattered thunderstorms will return. Storm chances will be slightly higher than yesterday with higher elevations and areas further south still being favored. Afternoon highs will still mostly stay in the 90s, and the hotter temperatures will stick around for the next few days. The peak of monsoon moisture looks to be tomorrow afternoon. Expect high chances for scattered heavy rain showers tomorrow afternoon and evening. We will see drier conditions over the weekend, but there will still be a few lingering showers over the high country for Saturday and Sunday.
