We will see another cool and comfortable start to the day on the Western Slope. High pressure has drifted south, and opened up a path for moist southwesterly monsoon moisture to move in. This means afternoon and evening thunderstorms will return. Rain chances for today will tend to stick to the mountain tops near the Divide, but we will see much higher chances for storms tomorrow afternoon. Rain and storm chances in the valley for today will be around a 30-40% chance with higher storm chances further south. With the higher rain chances high temperatures will drop back to our summertime normals in the mid 90s to end the weekend. These scattered storms will clear up overnight, and we will see a dry start to our morning tomorrow. The pattern of dry morning and scattered storms for the afternoon will continue into next week. We will see one last day of extreme heat before cooler temperatures move in for the end of the weekend and next week.
