Morning lows are a little bit cooler than yesterday on the Western Slope. Despite the cooler morning temperatures today will start a warming tend in the region. Highs look to climb to the 70s for most of the Western Slope. Moab will be slightly ahead of the game with a high of 80 today, and higher elevations will be slightly behind in the 60s this afternoon. Skies will be sunny to mostly sunny for the morning and afternoon. We will see a little more cloud cover for the end of the afternoon, but it will clear up for the evening hours. High pressure and an upper level ridge will lock dry stable air above the Western Slope causing rain chances to stay out of the picture for the next few days. This ridge will continue to warm our highs over the weekend as we will see 80s in the Grand Valley for Saturday and Sunday, and potentially 90s for the first time this year in Grand Junction early next week. As we look to next week there will be low chances for some scattered afternoon mountain showers, but valleys will stay dry.
