May 1st Early Morning Forecast

We will see another round of clear skies through the overnight hours on the Western Slope. Morning lows will be warmer than normal thanks to the strong ridge above us. Skies will stay clear for the morning hours, but we will see cloud cover start to build up as we head into the afternoon hours tomorrow. High temperatures will soar close to our record highs in the upper 80s for the lower valleys. These hot temperatures will not last through the whole weekend as a cold front will start to push through on Sunday afternoon. High temperatures are expected to drop to the much more manageable 70s for Sunday. This front will also bring in much needed rainfall to the region. Rain chances are expected to increase from Sunday afternoon into Monday. This rainfall will help to cool our highs down to the 60s for the lower valleys to start the work week. Dry weather will quickly move back into the region and we will see sunny skies and above average highs by Wednesday.
