Temperatures today are just a tad less warm than the previous days, but all eyes are on the cut off low pressure system that has been on the move from the southwest.
This low will keep clouds in the forecast today as rain showers are on the increase for the mountain zones later today. The sensible forecast will call for breezy conditions and peek-a-boo sunshine with the clouds offering some relief from the high UV. Rain showers will be possible for Montrose and areas to the south and east, especially the High Country. Whatever rain we do see in the valleys will be extremely light. A slightly better rain chance will exist for Monday afternoon, but gusty winds resulting from storms nearby seem more likely.
This Memorial Day system is expected to move east before the middle of next week as a ridge of high pressure becomes established. The extended forecast under this next pattern calls for warmer temperatures and drier conditions, possibly near record temperatures!
